1.      Select Points

2.      Click on “Create Grid” from the Tools menu

3.      Set grid size

4.      Click “Ok”

Select points. These points are assumed to be in Cartesian coordinates, x, y, z. It is z that is interpolated using natural neighbor interpolation.

From the menu bar choose “Tools” and then select “Create Grid.” Now the grid settings dialog box appears.

The settings dialog shows the minimum and maximum values for x and y from the data. Set the number of cell vertically and horizontally here and click “Ok.”

When the new grid is created it is put into a new sheet. For the purpose charting, the (0,0) of the output is in the upper left corner. Also, the y-axis labels are in the first row and the x-axis labels are in the first column.

Now you use the sheet with Excels’ surface charting tool.

This image is of the same data interpolated for a 100 by 100 cell grid with a 200 level color division.
